The Transition from Traditional Postcards to Interactive
Multimedia
Although there is a huge leap from the traditional print
postcards to modern digital interactive media, the idea
behind them is essentially unchanged.
The concept and early origins of postcards can be traced
back as early as a few thousand years ago to ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphic placards. The modern print rack ready postcard
has remained essentially unchanged - the idea behind it?
- to share a thought, a vision, an experience - all done
for the last hundred years with print on paper, all sporting
the essential features on the environment or location being
sent out from. One big difference between traditional to
digital? Up until now, there was no way to somehow get the
sender into the postcard as part of the ‘sharing experience’!
Now, with digital ePostcardXpress™ kiosks, the sender can
not only get into the postcard with their imagery, but can
also impart a dynamic audio/video message as part of the
eSendout! You’re almost there with them!
